Why Should You Custom Design Your Jewellery?

Q Report Team
Updated on October 06, 2022

We all have certain accessories that just make our look. Maybe it's that thick, gold ring your grandfather gave you. Maybe it's the diamond earrings your mother bought you when you graduated. Or it might be that bracelet you found at the corner jeweller, and just had to have. However, it's one thing to have an attractive piece of jewellery that compliments your look. It's something else entirely if you know, deep down, that the piece you're wearing is the only one like it in the world.

Custom Design Creates A Truly Unique Look

There's a big difference between having a print of a famous painting on your wall, and knowing the original is hanging there in your den as a conversation piece. The same is true when it comes to the jewellery you choose to wear. Because if you buy a mass-produced piece, it may still be a beautiful work of art. However, if you show up to a social event and find that three other people are wearing the same one, then it can feel less special.

Designing your own piece of jewellery eliminates that possibility. No matter how long you have it, or where you go when you wear it, you will never find another piece like it.

Get Something You Really Want

Another reason to seek out a custom-made piece of jewellery is that you will get exactly what you want when you work with an expert designer. It's a lot like buying clothes, in that respect. Because shopping off the rack will get you something that fits, and which may be close to what you really want, but it's always going to feel off. Getting something tailored to fit you, on the other hand, means that you aren't trying to fit what you're wearing. What you're wearing has been specifically fitted for you.

If you want gemstones that are a certain cut, or color, then a custom piece of jewellery will give you exactly that. If you want them arranged in a certain way in order to generate the proper amount of sparkle, then the designer can make that happen. If you want (or need) particular metals for the setting and frame, then that will be taken care of.

Make It Special

If you're looking for a piece of jewellery that speaks to you, and that will always be thought of as yours no matter the event, the season, or how long you've had it, then you need to go with a custom design. Not only that, but you need to find a company with talented artists who understand what makes jewellery beautiful, and who can translate your desires into a finished product that you will never want to take off.

Make sure to keep it local too. Australian jewellers are very talented and easy to work with and custom designing your jewellery in Australia is not as expensive as you may think.

Once designed, this special jewel will hold a special place in your heart and as we like to say it, will be “too precious to lose”.

Just keep in mind that regular insurers may not be able to insure you correctly for custom made jewellery, so you’ll need to speak to a specialist jewellery insurer like Q-Report who understands the customisation.
