Dirt and oil building will block the light interactions within the diamond, making it appear dull and old. To keep it looking good as new, clean it regularly.
Fortunately, cleaning an engagement ring is easy. Just drop it into a bowl of warm water mixed with a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to loosen dust and oils. Then, gently work the rest of the dirt away with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
