Aussies love the great outdoors, so it’s no surprise that outdoor activities accounted for 55% of all ring loss claims. Days on the water were most treacherous, whether it was swimming, boating or beaching. Somewhere there’s an octopus with an impressive collection of rings!
Wear and tear can be hard to avoid, but there are some kinds of damage that can’t be repaired. From dropped dumbells to ferocious fires, 22% of loss claims were due to rings being damaged beyond repair.
Abracadabra alakazam, now this ring will disappear from your hand! 13% of loss claims came from customers who had their precious items misplaced. Thankfully, Q Report jewellery insurance includes cover for mysterious disappearances.
Losses relating to travel are usually far higher on the list, but with most of us grounded due to COVID-19, they came in at just 5% of claims. Whether it’s on trains, buses, taxis or planes, it’s important to keep an eye on your jewellery while travelling.
