The 4 C's of Wedding Jewellery Insurance

Q Report Team
Updated on November 11, 2022

Cut, colour, clarity and carat weight are the rules of engagement when choosing a diamond, but there are another four Cs that you need to know to keep it!

The moment an engagement ring is placed onto a woman’s finger gives her a feeling like no other. It’s one of the few moments in life where everything stops and its one that you’ll never forget!

An engagement ring is a symbol of this special moment and the one thing that could tarnish that memory is if something were to happen to your precious ring.

So how can you keep your perfect diamond ring on your finger forever? Q Report Jewellery insurance!

There are so many reasons why this is the insurance you need for your rings, but we break it down into a way diamond lovers will understand. The four C’s.

1. CLARITY

Most brides insure their engagement and wedding rings under their home and contents insurance policy, but this does not give you comprehensive cover. There is often fine print in home and contents insurance that can mean your wedding rings are no more important to the insurance company than say your T.V. or Fridge.

Q Report specialises in jewellery insurance, so they understand jewellery and its sentimental value and the anguish that would be caused from loss, theft or damage.

2. COST

A Q Report Classic policy protects your rings with an agreed value of up to 125%.  This means that if the cost of replacing your jewellery is higher than the day you bought it, they will include an extra 25% to ensure you get the same item of jewellery. If your rings are covered with home and contents insurance, it is likely that they are only covered up to the sum insured. The replacement ring they provide you with might be of much lesser value.

3. CUSTOM

Your fiancé probably put a lot of thought into choosing your ring. He may have even had it custom made for you, developing a strong relationship of trust with your jeweller. Q Report believe that you should be able to return to your original jeweller if something were to happen.

Q Report jewellery insurance can guarantee this. Other policies? Not so much.

4. CONFIDENCE

Most importantly, Q Report jewellery insurance gives you the confidence to wear your ring anywhere and everywhere. Your rings will be protected with the best jewellery policy the market provides, and with an insurer that understands the importance and sentimental value of jewellery. After all, your ring wasn’t made to be left in a box!
