Q Connect FAQs

Shopify App

Getting Started

What is Q Report Connect?

Q Report Connect gives your customers an easy way to hear about insuring their new jewellery after they buy from you. It adds a short Q Report referral block to your Thank you page, your Shopify POS, or both. When a customer agrees, their contact and purchase details go to Q Report, and Q Report contacts them about insuring the item.

Do I need to use it both online and in store?

No. Use it wherever you sell. The online block and the POS block are set up separately, so you can turn on one, the other or both, and add the second later if you wish.

Who can use it?

Q Report Connect is available only to jewellers approved as Q Report referrers with a signed referrer agreement. Q Report provides the install link. The app checks your approval each time it loads, so if your approval ends, the block stops appearing.

Is there a cost?

No. There is no cost to add Q Report Connect to your online store or Shopify POS.

How do I set it up?

No theme code is needed. Set up only the parts you use:

  • Online store: in your Shopify admin, open the checkout editor, select the Thank you page and add the Q Report Connect block. We suggest placing it under the order confirmation and above Order updates.
  • Shopify POS: in the Shopify POS app settings, add the Q Report Connect block to the post-purchase screen and the order details screen.

You can move or remove the block at any time. The wording inside it is set by Q Report and cannot be edited. The block takes your store's brand colour and corner radius, and the Q Report logo is its only Q Report element.

If You Sell Online

Where and when does the customer see it?

On the Thank you page only, after the order has been placed. It does not appear in the cart or at any checkout step, so it does not affect how the customer pays.

Which orders show the block?

Orders in Australian dollars that include at least one item priced at AUD 2,000 or more, including GST and after any discount on that item. Items are not added together, so two rings at AUD 1,200 each do not qualify. On other orders nothing is shown. Q Report sets the threshold and may change it. The same rule applies in store.

What happens when the customer presses “Yes, send me the details”?

Directly under the button, the customer is told that pressing it sends their contact and purchase details to Q Report so Q Report can contact them about insuring the purchase. It also tells them there is no cost or obligation, and that no cover starts from pressing it. Once pressed, the block confirms that Q Report will email them further information, and Q Report then contacts the customer directly.

If You Sell in Store With Shopify POS

How does it work in Shopify POS?

When a sale or deposit is complete, the block appears on the post-purchase screen for eligible orders. Your salesperson hands over the Q Report brochure and reads the short script shown on screen. If the customer agrees, the salesperson presses Refer to Q Report. That press records the customer's agreement, so it should only be made once the customer has said yes. If the referral was missed at the sale, it can be made later from the order details screen.

What should our staff say, and what if the customer says no?

Staff read the script on screen and nothing more. They should not explain the cover, say whether it suits the customer, or recommend it. Any questions go to Q Report, and the brochure explains what is covered. If the customer says no, staff simply do not press the button. Nothing else needs to be done.

Why is the Refer to Q Report button greyed out?

The order has no customer email or mobile. Add one to the order and the button becomes available. Q Report needs a way to contact the customer before a referral can be sent.

What is Confirm collection?

For deposits and items held in store, Confirm collection tells Q Report the customer now has the item. Press it only once the item is in the customer's hands. It appears on the post-purchase screen when the balance is paid, and on the order details screen. It notifies Q Report only and does not mark the Shopify order as fulfilled. If the customer takes the item home at the sale, there is nothing to confirm.

Your Role and Compliance

What is our role as the jeweller?

You introduce the customer to Q Report. That is all. Your staff do not advise on, recommend, quote or arrange insurance. Q Report insurance is issued by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, AFSL 239687) and distributed by Jewellers Loop Pty Ltd (ABN 47 110 767 087, AFSL 556525), trading as Q Report, under a binding authority from Chubb. Cover is subject to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the PDS.

Do we receive a referral fee?

Referral fees are paid under your Q Report referrer agreement, which sets out how they work. The fee is disclosed to the customer in the Important information section of the online block and in the Q Report brochure.

Why doesn't the customer receive a quote or cover straight away?

When insurance is offered in connection with a purchase, the law requires a waiting period. Q Report sends the customer the required information first and cannot sell them a policy until at least 4 days have passed.
